How to discourage telemarketers

This is a telemarketing technique where a machine dials the call and records the time of day when you answer the phone. This technique is used to determine the best time of the day for a real salesperson (or salesperson) to call you to talk to someone on the phone.

After DISCOVERING, here’s what you can do if you notice that there is nobody on the line: “pound” the “#” button as fast as possible for 6 or 7 times. This disrupts the machine that makes up the call and eliminates your number from their system.

2) The 3 words that work perfectly are: “a moment please”.

Saying these 3 words, while dropping off your phone and going about your business (instead of hanging up immediately) would make telemarketing calls so long and expensive that sales would slow down.

Then you will hear the “beep-beep-beep” and you will know that it is time to return to the handset and hang up and the task is completed. These three little words will help eliminate the phone solicitation.

This is certainly regrettable, but for them only!

If you too are a victim of this kind of intensive canvassing, know that Free, for example, can block phone numbers (a blacklistage).
