People go to the doctor for regular checkups and when they are sick or suffer. They go to the dentist to treat their oral problems and to do an interview every year. Yet they rarely go to the eye doctor for eye exams unless they suddenly develop a serious eye problem.
Although we often neglect our visual health, we really need to test our eyes each year. The majority of adults begin to experience vision loss in their 40s, and each passing year it gets worse unless you do something. There are a number of factors other than aging that lower our eyesight over time, including eye fatigue, illness, inflammation, and overexposure, which is why we must try to preserve our sight as much as possible.
