7 simple truths about life that will help you become stronger

Buddhists believe that we create our own world with our thoughts and actions. We have the tools available for a meaningful and goal-oriented life, but we often focus on what we do not have.

Instead, we need to appreciate what we have right now and work for something above us, even if it’s just about creating a better world by being nice to others.

3. Perfection does not exist

“The ideal of life is not the hope of always being perfect, it is the will to be always better. Ralph Waldo Emerson

Many of us look for the perfect romantic relationship, the perfect job, or the perfect home. But perfection does not exist.

The good and the bad are both sides of the same coin and we can not exist without each other. To have the good in life, you must be able to accept the bad.

The more we are able to accept that nothing is perfect in the universe, the more comfortable we will be when things do not go as planned.

4. Everything has an end

“To be fully alive, fully human and fully awake is to be continually thrown out of the nest. To live fully is to be always in the unoccupied territory, to experience each moment as completely new. To live is to be ready to die again and again “Pema Chödrön

Everything changes. Nobody can counter that. We will be young a little while before becoming old. We will fall in love, then we will separate. We will live, then we will die.

Instead of fighting against this natural force of life, we can be thankful for all we have and all we are going to live because it will not last forever.

If things lasted forever, what would make them special?

5. Failure is the road to success

Success is not final, failure is not fatal, it is the courage to continue that counts. Winston Churchill

Nobody has a life filled with success. It’s inevitable to have some kind of failure in your life unless you do not succeed.

Yet often we try to avoid failures because they give us a sense of unease.

But if we are honest, failure often gives us the best lessons in life. Do not be afraid to fail because it could be your stepping stone to success.

6. We do not define a person to what she owns

The best things in life are not material.

Costly cars, designer bags, luxury clothes, of course, these things are valuable, but they do not add value to a person.

Stop focusing on these material things and start creating meaningful experiences and relationships.

7. Thinking and doing is not the same thing

“You want to know who you are? Do not ask. Act! The action will delimit and define you. Thomas Jefferson

We can think of many things, but if no action is taken, they will never happen. Success will not come and pick you up along the way, it’s up to us to get up and start doing what we’ve thought about. Do not be afraid to start, because you will never do it if you wait for the perfect moment.
