This report is based on the official figures of the General Directorate for the Repression of Fraud ( DGCCRF ). It is the grape that is at the top of the ranking of the fruit that most often contains pesticides with a rate of 89% of contaminated products. For vegetables, it is the celery-branch that wins the gold award: 84.6% of the samples are contaminated with pesticide residues.

The NGO warns in the report that some foods do not contain a single pesticide but several. This is the case for 40% of the fruits and vegetables studied: they contain more than two pesticides. The National Food Safety Agency (ANSES) calls this “the cocktail effect”. Thus, these foods are even more toxic.

Jean-Pierre Cravedi, toxicologist and director of research at the National Institute of Agricultural Research (INRA), interviewed by Le Monde , said that we should not be alarmed:
