Apple cider vinegar is an old remedy of grandmother who has many interesting properties for our health thanks to its high content of phosphorus, calcium, magnesium, sulfur and especially potassium. But the one that interests us especially is its analgesic action on headaches and mild migraines.
Homemade recipe: In inhalation, pour 3 tablespoons of cider vinegar in a bowl of hot and inhale the vapors for 5 to 10 minutes, placing your head under a cloth, above the bowl. In compress, pour 10 cl of cider vinegar into a bowl of boiling water. Let cool and soak compresses you then apply on the forehead and temples for about twenty minutes.
A compress of essential oil of mint
Headaches are frequently caused by stress or anxiety. In times of overwork (psychic or physical), remember to always have at hand a bottle of essential oil of peppermint that will both stimulate blood circulation and soothe cranial tensions.
The house recipe: moisten a compress and soak it with 5 drops of peppermint essential oil. Apply on the nape for about ten minutes. Renew regularly for 2 hours (or until symptoms disappear)
A decoction of ginger
The homemade recipe: cut three thin slices of fresh ginger into a bowl. Fill the bowl with hot water and cover. Let infuse for 30 minutes. Remove the ginger and drink.
If you do not have fresh ginger, replace it with half a teaspoon powdered ginger diluted in 150 ml hot water with a teaspoon of honey.
Cayenne pepper … in the nostrils
Cayenne pepper is best known for cooking, but it also has an analgesic effect on migraines and shingles thanks to the capsaic it contains. Of course, if you are frequently subject to headaches, you can add some to your dishes. But in a crisis, here’s what to do:
The homemade recipe: dilute a teaspoon of cayenne pepper in a glass of warm water. Mix well so that the pepper does not stay at the bottom of the glass and soak cotton swabs in this solution, making sure they are well covered with pepper and place them in the nostrils, until you feel heat. This is not a very nice remedy but it can wipe out headaches.
